The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the name of the new bowling coach as part of preparations for the Australia tour. According to reports, PCB has assigned the responsibility of the bowling coach to former Test cricketer Umar Gul.

While Umar Gul's name had been circulating for days regarding the bowling coach position, it was officially confirmed by the PCB on Friday. Umar Gul, a former fast bowler for Pakistan, is set to take on the formal role of the bowling coach, bringing his valuable experience to the team. Additionally, Wahab Riaz has been appointed as the chief selector for the Australia tour.

On the other hand, Mohammad Hafeez has been designated as the team director, replacing Mickey Arthur. Mohammad Hafeez will also travel with the squad as a coach during the Australia tour. The coaching staff, including batting, bowling, and fielding coaches, will be formed in consultation with Mohammad Hafeez.

It's worth noting that after fulfilling his coaching responsibilities, Mohammad Hafeez will not be involved as an active player in the upcoming matches. While Mohammad Hafeez participates in various leagues, ending those commitments might lead to financial loss. However, there are indications from the PCB that he will be adequately compensated for his coaching role.

Mohammad Hafeez has emerged as one of Pakistan cricket's most influential figures. He previously recommended Shan Masood for the position of Test captain, a recommendation that was approved by the PCB. According to media reports, Mohammad Hafeez views Shan Masood as a well-qualified individual who possesses the ability to keep teammates together, contributing to a positive team environment.

In conclusion, the PCB's recent coaching appointments, especially Umar Gul as the bowling coach and Mohammad Hafeez as the team director, reflect a strategic approach to enhance the team's performance and foster a conducive playing environment.
